When the day begins

So why would I think that the fast should start after dinner the previous day?

In Genesis we read that, "...It was evening, it was morning— Day One.' Genesis 1:5. The Jews start their day in the evening. Friday evening is when they start their Sabbath celebration. Not to get all religious, but this is God's calendar.

This is why it makes total sense to start fasting on Sunday evening and brake the water fast on Monday, dinner time. Another good thing about it is that it will not interfere with the kids meals and I'll be eating dinner with them.

If I can do it, you can most certainly try it out too. Come on and join me for Monday fast and prayer!

'God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning— Day One. God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning— Day One. God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning— Day One.' Genesis 1:3-5
